Effective Date: 2025-07-15
1. Introduction
Welcome to ShiftQR! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our browser extension and related website services (the “Services”). “ShiftQR” refers to the services operated by Ilya Kaminsky, an individual. By using our Services, including installing or using the ShiftQR browser extension, you agree to these Terms.
2. Services
ShiftQR provides a free browser extension available through browser extension stores (e.g., Chrome Web Store, Mozilla Add-ons). The extension allows users to generate QR codes directly in their browser. No account creation, login, or payment is required to use the Services.
3. No Ownership of User Data
ShiftQR does not collect or store any personal user data, inputs, or outputs. Any QR codes generated or scanned using the extension are processed locally on your device and are not transmitted to or stored by us. You retain full ownership and control over any data you process through the extension.
4. Integrity of Services
We represent and warrant that the Services will function as described without injecting any additional content, such as advertisements or tracking beyond anonymized analytics (as described in our Privacy Policy). The extension operates solely based on user interactions within the browser.
5. No Implied Endorsements
Any references to third-party products, services, or entities that may appear in QR codes processed by the extension do not constitute an endorsement or affiliation by ShiftQR. Such references are solely based on the content you provide or scan and do not reflect our views or opinions.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use our Services only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws. You may not use our Services:
- For any illegal, harmful, or abusive activity.
- To infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.
- To interfere with or disrupt our Services.
- To attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or gain unauthorized access to the extension or our systems.
- To distribute malware or engage in any activity that could harm other users or devices.
7. No Fees
The Services are provided free of charge. There are no fees, subscriptions, or payments required. We may introduce optional paid features in the future, which would be subject to separate terms.
8. Intellectual Property
ShiftQR retains all right, title, and interest in and to the Services, including the browser extension software, technology, and any trademarks. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the extension for personal or internal business purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Services without our prior written consent.

We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
11. Term and Termination
These Terms will remain in effect until terminated by either party. You may terminate by uninstalling the extension. We may terminate these Terms or discontinue the Services at any time for any reason with reasonable notice, including for breach of these Terms.
